Lastly, the boldest piece of the collection retains the diamond flange and M.O.P. dial but adds eleven VS diamonds as hour markers and reintroduces the 5N rose gold case and bracelet to match the dial elements.
Powering all three pieces is the Calibre 7 movement, a reliable three-hander offering a 56-hour power reserve with a practical date window at 6 o’clock. Credit to TAG for catering to enthusiasts by making the movement visible through the exhibition caseback. Additionally, the watch boasts a thin profile, with a minimum thickness of 10.2mm, proportionate to its 41.6mm lug-to-lug dimensions. However, as is often the case, slimness compromises water resistance, with a maximum depth rating of just 50 meters. While not a tool watch by traditional standards, it does feature Super-LumiNova for improved legibility, preventing the Carrera Dates from veering too far into dress watch territory.
Generously, the new 36mm additions to the Clone Carrera Date lineup fill a void left by TAG’s introduction of the new-sized models last year. By offering flashy and feminine options, the brand ensures it can attract buyers seeking small-sized timepieces crafted from luxury materials like diamonds and gold. Yet, the question lingers: is this truly what women watch enthusiasts desire? According to voices on platforms like “Watchtagram” and elsewhere, perhaps not. Diamonds don’t inherently define a women’s watch. In this regard, the 2023 debut pieces were closer to the mark. Featuring more versatile colors, they were infinitely more shareable than this year’s lineup, and at a size increasingly popular among both genders. However, if extravagance aligns with your style, then these new models are certainly worth considering.
